• The role of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is defined as the administrative center of the federal subject of Russia;
• The analysis of the existing settlement system is carried out;
• The scenarios of urban development of the city structure are simulated;
• Proposals for the functional and planning organization of the city and the development of transport infrastructure are created;
• The environmental audit of all types of public spaces is carried out;
• Cases of different subjects about development of city public spaces are prepared;
• Points of growth and areas for the future development are found.
